ART DIRECTOR AND DECORATOR

Biografía

I was born in the Canary Islands, and currently live in Lanzarote, having lived in various places, Barcelona, South Africa, Las Palmas and La Coruña.
I studied Fine Art in Madrid, as well as drawing at the Antonio Ratti Foundation in Como, Italy. I went on to study photography at the Centre for Visual Studies in Madrid, CEV. As well as studies of silicate painted murals at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid and decorative painting in Barcelona.
From my studio in Barcelona and later South Africa, I started my professional carrier, preparing work for exhibitions for Arco with the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid, for the Jovenart Gallery, Madrid, for CICCA and the Literary Cabinet, both in Gran Canaria. From South Africa I moved to Coruña and from there to
Madrid, where I started working on different audiovisual projects, as a decorator and art director, in film, TV, advertising, short films: El Mal Ajeno, Crematorio, Lope, Fin, Salir del Ropero, Abrazo, El Nuevo Sísifo. I also worked as a set designer on plays and musicals, El Hombre Duplicado, César Batalla y Fuego, The Carnival of Animals, Grih… I have worked as an interior designer for private homes, businesses and displays.

I have illustrated published children’s books, including El Sueño de Omar, Hola soy B and Súper Álex. I speak English and Spanish. I have good organisational skills, and these have been put to practice as head of the art department on many projects, some of those having two units shooting at one time. I am the co-founder of Ediciones Salitre and organiser of
Workshops for Film Professionals in Lanzarote, where 160 audiovisual professionals were trained for the Production, Art, Camera, DIT, Costume and Makeup and Hairdressing departments.

I’m a person who is interested in many aspects of the world of culture. This makes me versatile, open minded, respectful and committed to all projects I am involved in.
